Step 4 of Counselling

JAC Delhi Seat Allotment 2026 — Post-Allotment Options

Once the Joint Admission Counselling (JAC) Delhi releases seat allotment results for a round, candidates who receive a seat must make crucial choices. Failure to follow post-allotment protocols will result in the immediate cancellation of your allocated B.Tech seat. This guide explains seat acceptance fee payment, options (Freeze, Float, Slide), and withdrawal rules.

1. Paying the Seat Acceptance Fee

If a seat is allotted to you for the first time in any round, you must pay the mandatory seat acceptance fee of ₹95,000 (subject to final confirmation in the official brochure) online.

  • This fee must be paid online via the candidate login dashboard using credit card, debit card, UPI, or netbanking.
  • If you fail to pay this fee before the specified round deadline, your allotted seat will be cancelled, and you will be permanently disqualified from subsequent regular counselling rounds.

2. Freeze vs. Float vs. Slide Options

After successful document verification, you can submit your willingness option on the portal:

Option 1: Freeze

Choose this if you are fully satisfied with your allotted college and branch, and do not wish to be considered for any upgradation in subsequent rounds. Your seat is secured permanently.

Option 2: Float (Default)

Choose this if you accept the current allotted seat but wish to be upgraded to a higher-preferred choice on your preference list in subsequent rounds (across any of the five universities).

Option 3: Slide

Choose this if you accept the current allotted seat but wish to upgrade to a higher-preferred branch only within the same university where you have been allotted a seat.

3. Seat Withdrawal & Refund Rules

If you decide to opt out of the counselling process (for example, if you secure a seat in JoSAA/CSAB), you can submit a withdrawal request on the portal:

  • Withdrawal Window: JAC Delhi provides a designated withdrawal window, usually open until Round 4 or 5.
  • Refund Amount: If you withdraw within the deadline, your seat acceptance fee (₹95,000) is refunded online after a nominal processing fee deduction (usually ₹1,000 to ₹5,000).
  • Late Withdrawals: If you withdraw after the deadline or after the spot round, you forfeit the entire seat acceptance fee, and no refund will be issued.

4. Physical Spot Round

The Spot Round is conducted physically after all regular counselling rounds are completed to fill any remaining vacant seats in DTU, NSUT, IIITD, IGDTUW, and DSEU:

  • Eligibility: Candidates who registered but were not allotted any seat, or those who did not register earlier (subject to fresh spot registration fees).
  • Spot Payment: Candidates must carry a demand draft of the full college fee (usually around ₹2,00,000 to ₹3,00,000) to the physical spot venue to lock the seat instantly.
