JAC Delhi (Joint Admission Committee Delhi) is the centralized counselling body that manages admissions to government-funded technical institutions in Delhi, including DTU, NSUT, IIIT-D, IGDTUW, and DSEU. It uses JEE Main scores for admission.

JAC Delhi covers five colleges: Delhi Technological University (DTU), Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT), Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-D), Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), and Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU).

JAC Delhi uses JEE Main All India Rank (AIR) for admissions. You need a valid JEE Main score to participate in the counselling process. IIIT-D also accepts scores through its own entrance exam (IIIT-D entrance test) for some seats.

Delhi region quota (85% seats) is for students who have passed Class 12 from a school located in Delhi. Outside Delhi quota (15% seats) is for students from other states. Outside Delhi cutoffs are usually much lower (tougher to get in) since fewer seats are available.

JAC Delhi follows government reservation policy: OPEN (General) — unreserved seats, OBC (NCL) — 27%, SC — 15%, ST — 7.5%, EWS — 10%, PwD — 5% horizontal reservation. Defence and Kashmiri Migrant quotas are also available for a small number of seats.

JAC Delhi typically conducts 3 main rounds of counselling plus a special spot round. In each round, seats are allotted based on your rank, preferences, and available seats. You can upgrade your allotment in subsequent rounds.

Yes, partial refund is available if you withdraw before a specified deadline. The exact refund policy varies each year. Generally, a processing fee is deducted and the remaining amount is refunded. Check the official JAC Delhi website for the current year's refund policy.

Required documents include: JEE Main scorecard, Class 10 and 12 marksheets, Category certificate (if applicable), Delhi region proof (if claiming Delhi quota), Aadhaar card, passport-size photographs, Transfer certificate, and Character certificate from school.

As per JAC Delhi 2026 brochure (first-year): DTU — ₹2.697L, NSUT — ₹2.70L, IIIT-D — ₹4.50L, IGDTUW B.Tech — ₹1.68L (+ one-time charges), DSEU — ₹1.853L for most categories and ₹0.809L for SC/ST/PD. Hostel, mess, and other charges are extra.

Both are excellent. DTU has a larger campus, more branches, stronger alumni network, and slightly higher average packages. NSUT has a stronger startup culture, slightly lower cutoffs for non-CSE branches, and is in a better location (Dwarka). For CSE, both are almost equivalent. For non-CSE, DTU has a slight edge due to the alumni network.

Yes, for many students. IIIT-D has very strong outcomes in CS-focused branches, small batches, and strong research culture. But as per JAC Delhi 2026 brochure, first-year fee is around ₹4.5L, which is much higher than DTU/NSUT. Decide based on your budget, target branch, and long-term ROI.

For DTU CSE (Delhi, OPEN category), use the latest-year cutoff shown in our Cutoff Explorer for your target session. Outside Delhi and reserved category cutoffs differ significantly by year. Treat all historical values as directional only.

DTU: ₹18 LPA avg (CSE), 90% placement. NSUT: ₹17 LPA avg (CSE), 88% placement. IIIT-D: ₹22 LPA avg (CSE), 95% placement. IGDTUW: ₹14 LPA avg (CSE), 82% placement. DSEU: ₹6 LPA avg (CSE), 60% placement. Top recruiters include Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Adobe.

Yes, IGDTUW admits only female students through the JAC Delhi counselling process. It's India's only all-women government technical university. Girl students can also apply to DTU, NSUT, IIIT-D, and DSEU alongside IGDTUW.

DSEU (Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University) is the newest JAC Delhi college, established in 2020. As per JAC Delhi 2026 brochure, first-year fee is ₹1.853L for most categories and ₹80.9K for SC/ST/PD candidates. Placements are still developing and brand value is lower than DTU/NSUT/IIITD, but it remains a practical option depending on rank and budget.

List your preferred college-branch combinations in decreasing order of preference. Always put your dream choice first — there's no penalty for being ambitious. Fill at least 20-25 choices to maximize chances. Include a mix of safe, moderate, and aspirational options. You can modify choices until the deadline.

After seat allotment, you must: 1) Download the allotment letter, 2) Pay the acceptance fee online (partial fee), 3) Report to the allotted college with original documents for verification, 4) Choose "Freeze" (accept final) or "Float" (try for upgrade in next round). If you don't report, your seat is forfeited.

Freeze means you accept the allotted seat as final and won't be considered for upgrades. Float means you accept the current seat but want to be considered for a higher preference in the next round. If you get upgraded, the previous seat is automatically released. Always choose Float if you want a chance at upgrade.

DTU and NSUT have limited hostel seats, typically prioritized for outstation students. IIIT-D guarantees hostel for first-year students. IGDTUW has a hostel facility for girls. DSEU hostel availability varies by campus. Hostel fees are additional (typically ₹30K-60K/year).

Recent additions include: NSUT — CSDS (Computer Science & Data Science), MAC (Mathematics & Computing). IIIT-D — CSAM (CS & Applied Math), CSSS (CS & Social Sciences), CSB (CS & Bioinformatics), CSD (CS & Design). IGDTUW — AI&ML (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning). These newer branches often have relatively lower cutoffs.

Yes, JAC Delhi conducts a spot round after the regular counselling rounds. Spot round is for vacant seats only and requires physical presence at the counselling venue. It's an opportunity for students who didn't get allotment in regular rounds or want to try for remaining seats.

JAC Saathi predictions are based on recent historical cutoff data and classify results as Safe (rank below opening), Moderate (rank within range), and Low (rank slightly above closing) chances. Actual cutoffs may vary by ±5-10% each year due to paper difficulty and applicant pool changes. Use predictions as guidance, not guarantees.
