Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to primary questions regarding Joint Admission Counselling Delhi.

JAC Delhi (Joint Admission Committee Delhi) is the centralized counselling body that manages admissions to government-funded technical institutions in Delhi, including DTU, NSUT, IIIT-D, IGDTUW, and DSEU. It uses JEE Main scores for admission.

JAC Delhi covers five colleges: Delhi Technological University (DTU), Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT), Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-D), Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), and Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU).

JAC Delhi uses JEE Main All India Rank (AIR) for admissions. You need a valid JEE Main score to participate in the counselling process. IIIT-D also accepts scores through its own entrance exam (IIIT-D entrance test) for some seats.

Delhi region quota (85% seats) is for students who have passed Class 12 from a school located in Delhi. Outside Delhi quota (15% seats) is for students from other states. Outside Delhi cutoffs are usually much lower (tougher to get in) since fewer seats are available.

JAC Delhi follows government reservation policy: OPEN (General) — unreserved seats, OBC (NCL) — 27%, SC — 15%, ST — 7.5%, EWS — 10%, PwD — 5% horizontal reservation. Defence and Kashmiri Migrant quotas are also available for a small number of seats.

JAC Delhi typically conducts 3 main rounds of counselling plus a special spot round. In each round, seats are allotted based on your rank, preferences, and available seats. You can upgrade your allotment in subsequent rounds.
